The Wedding Trip

Saint Maarten, Dutch West Indies

Wedding Day: Wednesday the 13th of April, 2005

Hello everyone.  Sue and I invite you to join us through this page and the pages that will follow.  We will make an effort to keep adding to these pages.  We will be thinking of each and every one of you, wishing you all could be here with us.

14-Apr-05, 8:00 pm in St. Maarten.  It's official!!!  The wedding went wonderfully after a slight flower mishap.  Here are some pictures, but there are way too many to post on the web.  I will make a CD to send out when I get home.  Love and Hugs to everyone!

The sunset was spectacular.  Some of the images will have to be adjusted for light, but these are only the pictures from our camera, not the professional pictures.

No major cake issues!

More Pictures Please!!

12-Apr-05, 10:00 pm in St. Maarten.  Well, it is wedding eve and we had a great day out sailing in a large catamaran with a French Skipper named Sam.  I know I have not put up anything new in a day or two, but the fun has been running full force.  Here are a few shots of today's trip.

On the way out, the water was so clear you could still see the bottom at 50 feet.  In this picture, they are looking over the front of the boat and just watching things go by.

The boys go riding in the dingy with Sam.  They seemed to really like zipping around in the little boat.  The water is so clear!

All of us on the way back in.

Tomorrow is the wedding, so don't expect anything new until Thursday, late morning.

09-Apr-05, 6:30 pm in St. Maarten.  We had a great flight from Atlanta down to Puerto Rico and made it to our hotel.  The hotel in San Juan was not all that we had hoped, but was only for about 18 hours, so we made do with it (sans power for some of the night).

We then had a beautiful flight over to St. Maarten with window views of the U.S. and British Virgin Islands.  Our condo is great and right on the beach.  The boys are working on their sun burns and we did a little walking around today.  Hopefully tomorrow we will get in a little boating and a few different beaches.  I will try to keep you posted!

08-Apr-05, 6:30 am in Atlanta.  The flight from Salt Lake to Atlanta went fine, we are waiting to get on the flight to San Juan, Puerto Rico.  We will spend the afternoon and night in San Juan before flying on to Saint Maarten.  Nobody wants to take a picture right now (surprise, two flights and not much sleep)!  More later...

07-Apr-05, 10:00 pm in Salt Lake City.  We are waiting for the next leg of the trip, from Salt Lake to Atlanta.  When we were getting ready to leave, Darlene and Larry helped us get going at the Billings airport.  Larry took this picture of the gang as we were getting ready to go in:

I forgot to let people in on the real story behind the picture below, so I added a few things to the bottom.

Here is a picture from our engagement trip to Couer d' Alene, ID.

Aboard the Double Eagle.  The Double Eagle is a custom mahogany water taxi that was built in Western Montana a few years back.  I was able to charter it for the evening and convince Sue that we were going on a dinner cruise.  At the last minute, I told her that I had a secret and we got on the Double Eagle.  She claims she had no idea that I had the ring in my jacket pocket and was going to propose.  I guess only she will know...

This picture is the next day.  We went on a walk with our coffee and a breakfast bagel.  I put the camera on a rock and set the timer to get this shot.  If you don't believe in divine intervention, then look at the water in the space between the trees.  That is the Double Eagle passing by right when the timer snapped the photo.

For those of you who don't know the story (and must be bored if you are still reading this far!), I had begged to take Sue to Couer d' Alene because my Grandfather (Mother's side) said it was the most beautiful place to go.  I told her that I needed to go paddling before the snow started to fly this past fall.  She just had no idea why we should go kayak on that particular lake, but being game for some fun, went along with it.  It turned out to be a very beautiful trip and we had an absolutely awesome early morning paddle before having lunch by the lake.  We then went on a walk around town before the little dinner surprise!  More engagement trip pictures.
