S & G Kayaks

Up

S&G stands for "stitch and glue" composite construction.  This is a slightly faster way to built wood composite kayaks.  The shapes are very beautiful, having bright wood finishes and smooth curves.  The boats built with this technique have a hard chine and take on the appearance of Aleutian skin on frame boats.   These boats are ideal for art work on the hull.  Painted or screened art is available as well as inlayed wood work.  Ask about custom work for your boat.

Key Benefits

Light weight and strong construction.
Hard chine gives rise to a very "firm" feel (high initial stability).
Slightly lower cost than a strip built boat.
Length = 17'-0", Beam = 21", Draft = 4.2"

Pricing

Pricing is based on a standard boat with minimal custom work.  This particular design is available for around $3,850 for a very beautiful craft, but without special features, such as inlayed wood work.  Ask for details and quotes for custom work.
